Along with the regularly taught lectures, the supervision of final theses is the most important area of our teaching activities. Every year we take care of a considerable number of theses in form of literature research for research proposals, feasibility studies or market analysis. The thematic areas should be close to our portfolio, but is not limited in case of interesting new ideas from all areas of mining.
The results are very versatile, whether in the context of industrial projects, research projects or to supplement the course materials, each thesis enriches and enlarges the existing know-how. Therefore, we are, of course, open to industry partners who are interested in or looking for a young engineer, to work on a specified task of their company in form of a bachelor thesis (3 months, approximately 50 pages) or Master thesis (6 months, approximately 80 pages).
Nobody stands alone writing his final thesis. Our scientific staff supports on content, formatting and other questions – assuming own motivation and independence of the student. Students in the 3rd year of their Bachelor’s or in the 2nd year of their Master’s program are therefore invited to contact Prof. Lottermoser or directly a member of our scientific staff. We are also looking forward receiving interesting subjects from the minerals industry!
We continuously provide subjects for theses. You can find them on the central RWTH platform:
